so i tried applying that that glass texture you showed me for the first one. then just started working on the chair here. nothing fancy just following the videos i left up the changed settings

So unfortunately i could not complete the texturing but i was able to unwrap it and add materials really turned out nice i think i think this picture is of the slightly lighter black i wasn't sure if the lens was showing up so i pulled it out to see. some coils and heres the UV unwrap. My overwatch team is these colors so i couldn't resist.

Pretty much all i did was resize the camera and fight with the materials and render settings. i just need to play with the materials and settings till it looks perfect. I still couldn't figure out how to make my material viewer update automatically because it comes and goes.

okay so i managed to finish the model today so i am glad. Managed to get around that issue i was having with the upper joint. didn't really learn any new tricks other then reusing assets which can be handing in the case of the second motor then added the camera, really learned how to blend two different shapes together. added the lenses for the camera which will become prevalent when i add materials. and thats modeling finished, i tried to clean up the model groups and remove excess materials, rotated the blades a bit to make if feel nicer. im gonna try to finish with the materials then maybe add some more bits with the extra time. thanks

Today i didnt make too much progress today made the rubber bits using  a path and i forgot what the tool was called. then topped two off with a cap then i made this box and used a boolean tool to cut the ridges. then i made these wires with a path and a nurbs circle. i tried to get started on the camera. but i was struggling to make the base because it looked bad and i just couldnt get it back together. so i just deleted it. and ill start over today.

Been slacking a bit but managed to get some more done made this back bottom assembly with the screws and the those two other bits, learned how to utilize the boolean cutting which is pretty handy for creating holes and bits. made this front plate to put a name on it. then finished the day with making these two plates,  i didnt know you can just bridge two faces together to make a hole, thats pretty useful.

So made a lot of progress today. I finished the legs by duplicating nothing fancy just duplicating and reversing the direction then i started making the motors had to adjust how the coils sat so it looked more even. then started working on the propellers, glad they turned out alright. then finished and ready to move to next modules.

Basically been working on the legs for the drone today I leaned a bit about making the grooves and the pads started learning about making a curve so I've been playing with positioning it. but today has mostly been about the legs  and mirroring them.

made some god progress today Extruded the box and part and back battery bit. had to improvise and both modify and add some edges to make it extrude out a bit Detached and created the back battery part. making good uses of the smooth tool and create edge loops. had to modify the battery cover and back box to match up when smoothed. getting comfortable with selecting and modifying edges Made the battery release by extruding the boxes down and duplicating, learned i can extrude individual faces to make the grooves. the modeling tools are becoming more efficient then they were from blender. then i finished off today with making the bands for the front two arms of the drone. took me a moment to figure out how to separate the faces and make them so i can view it separately. the video wanted to use the the knife tool to bisect the pieces manually but i thought it would be more efficient to hold ctrl to make an edge loop. i have been enjoying mayas modeling tools. in c

So i made more progress today learned more about duplicating i struggled with merging but it was because i forgot to join the different pieces together. i am becoming more comfortable with the whole interface here is where i went and restructured the bottom to be more square in anticipation of of building out the body. i also utilized the knife tool to make and delete some edges then top of the night with learning the mirror tool.

1/14/2018 So i havnt had much time to work on my drone tutorial lately just picked up where i left off on thursday so i am still working on the drone arm and i noticed i seem to be missing an edge loop near the top of the smaller cylinder So i took this as a challenge to figure out the problem versus using a save from the pluralsight so i selected the one vertice and beveled it enlarged it then it took be a bit to understand the extrude tools then finished off today with making that little notch at the bottom. i didnt do too much today but i feel like i learned alot today and how to solve a problem i shouldnt have had.

hello, Just started the drone tutorial from pluralsight i was fairly familiar maya but i didn't know too much about the modeling so this course will be useful. Here i just created the 2 new cylinders and i am about to bridge them. thats about it for this day in particular. basically i learned how to bridge items. some useful shortcuts and how to actually use apple products
